Oldsmoble 3.4

-This is the Oldsmobile 3.4 liter engine and I am going to show you why this engine is unique from many other six cylinders out there.

-To start things off, in the yellow you will see the digital EGR system.

-This is the Direct Ignition System consisting of three coil packs that each fire two of the six spark plugs.

-This is the Crankshaft Position Sensor from the outside of the engine. It is extremely important not to damage this sensor because if there is no message from the CKP the engine will not start.

-This is the CKP from the inside it is operated by a magnetic force that shifts as the crankshaft moves and the notches pass the sensor.

-Unlike many others this water pump is part of the timing chain cover.

-This is the Oxygen Sensor that measures exhaust gases and tells the PCM if the engine is running too rich or too lean so it can be adjusted.

-These are exceptionally long spark plug boots that are used on hemi style heads.

-Throttle plate and body system is the  intake for newer vehicles.

-The Throttle Position Sensor is there to tell the PCM how far it is open or closed so it can compensate for each change.

-This is the two stage heads that consist of valves and spings in the bottom half of the two heads and the hydraulic lifters and camshafts in the upper half.
