How to operate the
Leakchek Falcon

This is the Leakchek Falcon leak detection system. It can be
used to detect leaks in the oil system, exhaust system, cooling
system and the brake booster as well as engine vacuum leaks.

The Leakchek Falcon is a very easy machine to operate.
The black cables on the left are connected to a 12-volt
battery, the gray cable in the middle is the activator
button and the white hose on the right is where the vapour
comes out.

It was suspected that the EGR valve from a Ford Aerostar
was not closing fully. As you can see the vapour was
escaping past the valve, so our suspicions were correct.

Here the Leakchek Falcon is connected to a Ford Mustang
through the brake booster. The only vapours visible
are from the throttle body. If there was vapours coming
from the base of the throttle body or the intake manifold
that would probably indicate new gaskets are needed.

The vapours seen on this Nissan are coming from a hole
in the hose between the air filter box and the throttle body.
This car idled poorly and was hard to start because air
was going through the hole and not past the vane air sensor.
The Leakchek Falcon quickly found the problem.

The diaphragm on this Chrysler control module is
obviously leaking. This would prevent the timing
from changing.

The Leakchek also works well on exhaust systems.
When hooked up to the tailpipe of this Audi,
the Leakchek quickly helped to find a leak
in the resonator.
