Volkswagen Fox
This is the old flywheel off of the Volkswagen Fox that was my first job in Mechanics 20. If you notice that the pilot bearing has no bearings left. That was replaced when the new clutch was put in.
This is the old clutch disc. Even on the metal parts you can see traces of burnt oil.
This is the new clutch disc. You can compare it to the old one above. The pad is not worn and the springs are not dirty.

This
the inside of the transmission. It's pretty dirty. It looked
way different after it was washed but I did not get an after picture.
This is a picture of the old transmission front seal. It is supposed to be all in one piece and as you can see in the above picture it has separated into three pieces. This was replaced when the transmission was reinstalled.
This is the clutch release bearing. It's also looking a little dirty.
Project #2
1991 Honda Civic
As you can see in this enlargement this alternator belt was dried out, cracked, and brittle. The customer was surprised when I showed him the condition of the belt.
In
this picture it is a little hard to see but this timing belt is also in
very bad condition. You can kind of see the cracks in the belt.
Both this timing belt and the alternator belt shown above were replaced.
This picture was taken while looking down at belts and gears. We used the timing light in order to get the timing right. If you also look close enough you might be able to see that this car also had to have it's valve cover gasket replaced. When the gasket was replaced I used a little bit of silicone to fill in the sharp corners which are not visible in this picture.
